 EE news 30/07/2014.
On Wednesday 30th July 30th, 2014, the new Exercise Garden at the Stroke Rehabilitation Unit in St Finbarr’s Hospital, Cork was officially opened by Doug Howlett of the Munster Rugby Team.
The recently revamped outdoor space will greatly enhance the rehabilitation and recovery of patients who, as a result of a stroke, frequently experience muscular weakness, impaired dexterity, uncoordinated movement and decreased function and mobility.
The attractive garden incorporates exercise equipment that offers low impact cardiovascular exercise in the open air with different surfaces to improve balance. Equipment includes: Parallel bars, single rider, double air walker, arm stretching station and cycle station. More info from Peter Dineen, communications, HSE
Norma Wyse, RGN with ward managers Ann Flahive and Maria Hanley.
