opening of the new Aldi store at The Elysian, Cork. Aldi Stores (Ireland) today opened a new store in IrelandÕs tallest building, the landmark Elysian in CorkÕs city centre, creating 20 new jobs.
The new store at The Elysian is AldiÕs 18th store in Co. Cork. Cork now has more Aldi stores than any other county in Ireland. AldiÕs Longford store reopened following an extensive renovation project. Located on Kilashee Road, the store has been completely refurbished and extended.
A proud supporter of Irish producers, Aldi has tripled its annual spend on Irish products over the past five years, helping maintain over 22,000 jobs across the Irish food industry. Since 2008 Aldi has almost doubled the number of Irish suppliers it works with. Over 50% of AldiÕs supplier spend is with Irish suppliers, producers and manufacturers. All of AldiÕs fresh meats, fresh poultry, eggs, bread, flour, and many of its teas, coffees, soft drinks, waters and snacks come from leading Irish suppliers.
