Eibhís O'Sullivan, Bantry and Andrea Palandri, Italy at the final of the Seán Ó Riada Gold Medal in the Rochestown Park Hotel, Cork which was broadcast live on RTÉ Raidió na Gaeltachta.
There were 15 finalists in total, including five musicians who travelled from the US, and they were joined by fiddlers from Kerry, Armagh, Dublin, Leitrim, Tipperary and Waterford. Boston brother and sister Adam and Heather Cole-Mullen were among the competitors, the youngest of whom was Sarah O’Gorman, 16, from Waterford.
Judges were Connie O’Connell, Seán Keane and Ciarán Ó Maonaigh.

Winner received the specially designed Seán Ó Riada Gold Medal, and a cash prize of €2000.
