Pat O'Connell Fish Merchant with Elizabeth O'Connor from Monkstown pictured as Cork was hot to trot on Friday afternoon as 30 brave men ventured out in heels in aid of Cork cancer services. After a challenge by listener Paul Connolly to 96fm Opinion Line presenter PJ Coogan to walk down ‘Pana’ in heels, a movement was born! Collecting a €1000 cheque from MyFertilityCheck.ie, Coogan passed go in a fetching pair of baby pink kitten heels. With the support of Cork Chamber, Voxpro, Electric, Smarttech, Fuzion and even some local politicians, the event raised thousands for the Cork’s 96fm Giving for Living Radiothon charities Marymount Hospice, Mercy Hospital Foundation, CUH Foundation, ARC House Cancer Support and Breakthrough Cancer Research.
