visit to City Hall, Cork, by a group from Quinnipiac University, Connecticut, on a visit St. Mary's Church, Pope's Quay, Cork, which is the subject of a painting by James Mahony from 1842 (a replica of which is hanging in St. Mary's) and which will feature in the exhibition - coming home Art & the Great Hunger - in the West Cork Arts Centre, Skibbereen, from July 20th-October 13th. Included are (seated from left) Ryan Mahoney, Quinnipiac University; Charlotte O'Byrne and John O'Flynn of St. Mary's Church Restoration Fund; Cllr. Mary Shields, deputising for the Lord Mayor; Fr. Maurice Colgan, O.P., Prior, St. Mary's; Lynn Bushnell, Quinnipiac University, and also included are other members of the group from Quinnipiac University, members of St. Mary's Dominican Community and conserVation staff from Cork City Council.
