2018 EVENING ECHO READERS’ PHOTO COMPETITION

The winner will be announced in the Reader's Photos Competition Special Supplement in the Evening Echo on Tuesday, October 23.

Do you love to take pictures of the everyday things that make you smile? Maybe it's your baby making a funny face, a perfect sunset or your family pet mastering a new trick? Whatever it is that brings a smile to your face we are asking you to share those candid moments with us.

We will share a selection of the photos we receive on the Evening Echo's Facebook page and a special supplement will be published later in the year, where an overall winner will be announced.

First prize of €500 plus runners-up prizes.

The winner will be announced in the Reader's Photos Competition Special Supplement in the Evening Echo on Tuesday, October 23. * All photographs submitted must be the work of the individual who submits them. Entrants must ensure that photographs of people have been taken with the permission of the subject (where identifiable) and the subject is aware that the photograph may be used in print and online in connection with and for the promotional purposes of the Evening Echo Readers’ Photo Competition. * No digitally altered images will be accepted. (No cloning, adding or removing elements). Basic enhancements are allowed, for eg brightness, contrast, and sharpening etc.). * The competition is open to Amateur Photographers only. * All pictures should be submitted as JPEG files (.jpg). Please include a caption to explain your picture. Resolution should be medium / high (minimum of 1,000 pixels on shorter side of image, maximum of 4,000). Photographers will be credited (eg. Picture: Ann Murphy, Ballincollig) * You warrant to us that all contributions are lawful and do not infringe any rights of any third party and that you will indemnify us in respect of any breach of that warranty. * Evening Echo accepts no liability for any content submitted by third parties. * Photographer will always retain full Copyright of their image. * We respect the intellectual property of all photographers and we ask our readers to do the same. All material published is protected by copyright and no one is allowed to copy or reproduce anything without consent. * We reserve the right to share your identity with any third party who is claiming that any photograph submitted by you violates copyright laws. * You will not submit photograph that is offensive, abusive, indecent, defamatory, obscene. * You license us to use the photograph you provide on our newspaper, website, facebook and twitter and other social media and for more than once. You also licence us to use your photograph to promote Evening Echo Readers Photo Competition. * You accept that we may exercise editorial control over the photograph and may decide not to allow publication or to refuse your entries at our absolute discretion. * We reserve the right to crop any photographs submitted by you at our discretion in order to fit the overall design and format. * No payment will be made for use of the pictures submitted to EVENING ECHO 2018 READERS' PHOTO COMPETITION. * No relatives of employees of Evening Echo Limited are allowed to enter the competition. * Judges decision is final. * Evening Echo Limited retains the right to reject or disqualify a picture from the competition. *You may enter only one picture each week (Mon-Sun). In the case of multiple entries being sent by a single individual in a given week, the judges will choose one random image from the selection to put forward for consideration.
