Forty one different ethnicities are present at the school; pupils representing these 41 different groups welcomed the Minister to the school with a flag and welcome message in the various languages. First class pupil Calvin Curtin and senior infant Jade Sutton (who each have a parent and grandparent who attended the school) greeted Minister Jan O'Sullivan upon arrival at the school.

Lough Scouts annual Easter Family Fun Day. The scout group based next to the Lough host their 10th annual Family Fun Day on the grounds of the Lough Church. Adults can relax over a cuppa with a fresh cake while their children make their own Easter Eggs, paint their own Easter jar, enter colour competitions, go on an Easter Egg hunt, get their face painted and then go for a jump on the bouncy castles! The parents, friends and leaders of the 5th Cork Lough Scout group have organised the popular Easter Family Fun day every year for the last decade.
