EEXX news Joe Leogue / Ann Murphy story.
Standoff in Fermoy between residents and a family who have installed a mobile home beside a house in a Fermoy estate. A caravan was already in use for over two years and yesterday a mobile home was delivered and has been hooked up for electricity. The truck which delivered the mobile home has not been allowed to leave the scene and is blocked in by local residents who are unhappy with the situation at Beechfield Estate on the northern side of the Co. Cork town.
The traveller family have spent approx two years living in a caravan behind the house. The brown/white mobile home arrived yesterday.
There is widespread support in the estate for the stand that residents have taken to ensure both caravan and mobile home are removed.
