The new store at The Elysian is AldiÕs 18th store in Co. Cork. Cork now has more Aldi stores than any other county in Ireland. AldiÕs Longford store reopened following an extensive renovation project. Located on Kilashee Road, the store has been completely refurbished and extended.
 A proud supporter of Irish producers, Aldi has tripled its annual spend on Irish products over the past five years, helping maintain over 22,000 jobs across the Irish food industry. Since 2008 Aldi has almost doubled the number of Irish suppliers it works with. Over 50% of AldiÕs supplier spend is with Irish suppliers, producers and manufacturers. All of AldiÕs fresh meats, fresh poultry, eggs, bread, flour, and many of its teas, coffees, soft drinks, waters and snacks come from leading Irish suppliers.

UCC hosted a fundraising candlelight walk organised by UCC Security, led by Steven Barrett and Alan Aherne and Voiceworks Studio, in aid of BUMBLEance, the world’s first interactive ambulance service designed specifically for children. UCC students, staff and members of the public who turned out were serenaded by buskers and carol singers dotted around the Christmas music trail and even Santa visited by motorbike. A number of local schools also took part. VoiceWorks Studio performed a free Christmas concert the amount raised so far is €4600
